I'm putting this one up for NCS archive purposes lol...

OR, if you ever have a "best looking bike that was declared a total-loss by the insurance company"-category some month :doh:

They will declare it a total loss with far less than that done to it. BTW mine would win in that category.

I couldn't really believe it either, but it was actually a good thing in my case because I wasn't in any condition to deal with fixing/selling it at that time and I was getting out of riding anyway...

{FYI explanation below: not intended to sound whiny or defensive, just an explanation :D}
[[[]]] I'd had enough of hospitals; both times I wrecked resulted in week-long stays in the hospital... first time an illegal left-turner got me, and if he'd moved into my path of travel just a split second later than he did I wouldn't have been able to slow down AT ALL and I would have been hurt more than "just" the 10 inch long laceration above/to the side of my right knee (not to mention bruising to the side of my ribs, back, and neck) ... the second time, on May 28 of last year, I honestly believe that had I not been able to "control" how I landed that I could have very well been paralyzed or even killed (as it was my "controlled landing" resulted in a horrifically dislocated and multiple-fractured upper arm/shoulder AND severely traumatized nerves that are NOW just starting to heal after a follow-up surgery this January).... PLUS, and most importantly, I made a promise to myself after my first not-at-fault wreck in 1999 that if/when I ever got back on a bike (which finally happened in 2007) that if I got Banged up (capital "B"), and it was my fault, that I'd give up riding for good... and that's what happened, I fughked myself up pretty good... lol [[[]]]

Apparently there was quite a bit of "tweaked" parts under the bodywork... a fork brace (?) was warped (front end in general was all kinds of dinged up under the skin and was unsafe without virtually replacing all of it) and all sorts of little things that would have HAD to be replaced to avoid possible liability issues with the repair shop if they released it without fixing them, plus all those little things that add up quickly on the rest of the bike... basically the front end took the majority of the damage, the force of impact going through the tire/wheel and into the frame I guess... I'm not sure, but I'm not losing sleep over it Image

:D

Those can't be pics of the bike post-accident but PRIOR to any repairs... I don't believe it! 8)

Only thing that was replaced was the bent levers which aren't bent all that bad I used them for.a good while before I bought the one on there now.

Just like in your case there is stuff you can't see. The fairing stay is cracked but it works so Im not worried the rim has a ding in it again doesn't really affect it so I don't worry. There is a couple finger sized holes in the front fairing and most of the clips that hold the bottom part of the front fairing above the fender are broken as well as rashing on the engine cover and scratches and dings on the side fairings and the bolt holes on the rear fairing where it clips onto the suffrage are almost broken through only thing really holding it down is the undertail and seat.

Grass growing through my walkway is the least of my worries. Besides that house belongs to my girlfriends dad and due to the volatility of our relationship I may be living there for 5 days or 5 years. So any money I spend there is minimal.

I'd be happy to live in one of your houses tho. Just saying.

I wanna play. Haven't been on here for awhile but I will be on more often since I'm layed up from surgery on my ankle. No riding for a minute but here is my current rider. I need another Honda in the garage so I can keep the miles low on this one

1985 VF1000R. Not the latest or greatest but I love it. A lil older than most others that are on here.
