Double Island

Reliable sources have noted that Double Island in Yancey County is now 2/3 resurfaced. The middle and northern sections have been re-done, and now only the section connecting to the Micaville loop needs to be done.

Enjoy! If you don't know where Double Island is, map it! It's a blast.

Double island has fresh pavement as of fall 2017. Got a chance to rip thru there with a pack of motards before the weather turned. SO. GOOD.

With the resurfacing of Big Laurel, 80 N of 19E, Double Island, there are a lot of nice roads to ride in 2018. Add the few miles of Coxes Creek, and it’s non stop fun in MAMY (Madison, Avery, Mitchell, Yancey counties.

Google maps is your friend. It is just north of Micaville.
